At the beginning of March, construction and installation works are scheduled to begin on the integrated project for the development of the cultural and historical tourism product and its related infrastructure in Gabrovo. Just a few days ago, the three construction contracts with the selected contractors were officially signed.<\/p>\n
The large-scale project has a total value of BGN 6,195,596, of which BGN 275,704 is the municipality\u2019s own contribution. The project, aimed at establishing Gabrovo as a national tourist center, is financed under the Operational Program \u201cRegional Development.\u201d The initiative encompasses some of the most attractive and popular national sites of cultural and historical heritage \u2013 the Architectural and Ethnographic Complex (AEC) \u201cEtar,\u201d the Architectural and Historical Reserve (AHR) \u201cBozhentsi,\u201d and the Dechko House.<\/p>\n
The consortium \u201cBozhentsi 2012\u201d, consisting of the Sofia-based companies \u201cRestoration\u201d EAD, \u201cIPS Infrastructures\u201d AD, and \u201cMIRAT Group\u201d Ltd., will carry out construction works on sites in AHR \u201cBozhentsi,\u201d with a total value of BGN 1,938,196 (VAT included). The contractor will undertake restoration and adaptation of the administrative building, the old and the new schools, restoration and conservation of the \u201cDoncho Popa\u201d and \u201cMityo Stanev\u201d houses; construction of a parking lot and service building at the entrance of AHR \u201cBozhentsi\u201d; as well as landscaping, rehabilitation of the cobblestone pavement, installation of a video surveillance system, and replacement and installation of new, including artistic, lighting.<\/p>\n

The entrusted construction works for \u201cCultural Infrastructure Gabrovo 2012\u201d consortium, composed of \u201cStroitel\u201d OOD \u2013 Ruse, and \u201cPliska Consulting\u201d OOD \u2013 Sofia, amount to BGN 1,079,810 (VAT included). The consortium will work on two sites. The first includes conservation, restoration, and adaptation of the Dechko House, intended to host a \u201cretro\u201d pharmacy and a \u201cretro\u201d photo studio.
